The Charger Youth Football and Cheer Scholarship is offered to Carroll High School seniors that participated in both Charger Youth Football or Cheer and as a senior member of the Carroll Charger High School Football team or Cheerleading squad and plan on attending an accredited college, university, technical, or trade school. The scholarship winner will be awarded a scholarship payable to the student and the accredited college, university, technical, or trade school.
A one-time scholarship of $500.00 will be awarded to the successful applicant. This award will be payable to a successful student and the accredited post-secondary college, university, technical, or trade school.
• Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
• Played one (1) or more years of Charger Youth Football or cheered one (1) or more years of Charger Youth Cheer
• Participated as a senior member of the Carroll High School Football team or Cheerleading squad
• Have been accepted to an accredited, post-secondary college, university, technical, or trade school.
• Complete a scholarship application
• Submit a typewritten, double-spaced, 500 word essay using the prompt below. Cite all references.
`Please identify the challenges and opportunities the student-athlete must meet and experience and how participation in sports has helped prepare you to succeed in life. Please include your beliefs as to the value of participating in organized sports and offer recommendations to future Charger student-athletes.'
Charger Youth Football and Cheer has sole responsibility for selecting the scholarship winner(s). Winner(s) will be chosen based on the following criteria, in addition to meeting all eligibility requirements:
• Length of commitment to Charger Youth Football or Cheer and the Carroll Charger Football or Cheerleading programs.
• Quality of teamwork, leadership and participation in community related endeavors, both in and outside of football as well as school activities, studies, awards and honors.
• Quality of application and essay, including content, grammar, punctuation, spelling and creativity.
All entries must be submitted prior to June 1st.

INCORRECT OR INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR REVIEW.
